19.NIMBOSTRATUS CLOUDS

Nimbostratus clouds are dark and low level clouds that produce dull and gloomy wet days. When these clouds became more lower.. they became fogs. However, Nimbostratus came from Latin words nimbus and stratus which means rain and sheet. So therefore, nimbostratus means sheet type of cloud that produces rains.
